I was drawn to tribes by a 'random' occurance (though I don't believe in chance, only syncronity). I've been studying the druids for.. wow.. 13 years already? I consider myself a neo-druid, though, not a 'witch' or a 'wiccan'.
I've been drawn to adopt formyself the online nickname ShivaFang, which I use everywhere (except here, since Tribes likes using First Names, which is OK by me.. and actually if it wern't for that the syncronity of my being here would not have happened, as it resulted out of someone with the first name as me asking questions about.. the town I live in... like I said, a bizzare... 'coincidence')
I've since learned that Shiva is a hindu deity and have done some reasearch on Him/Her. And the more reasearch I do the more I am fascinated with Hindu spirituality.
I have felt this 'connection' in my heart, and I felt this was a personal truth. Lo and behold my suprise when, browsing through the religion groups.. I come across THIS tribe. It 'blew my mind' that other people have a similar connection between the two, and as such I felt inspired to join this group and see where the ride takes me.

Re: Hi.. I'm new!
Wed, January 17, 2007 - 2:29 AMHi, Justin, and welcome.
And for a real shock, there are several books and authors who contend that people from ancient India migrated into Europe and became the Druids!

Re: Hi.. I'm new!
Wed, January 17, 2007 - 7:23 AMI've heard about that from a friend of mine who owns a pagan bookstore, but I've only heard vague details and never thought too much about it. -

Thu, January 18, 2007 - 1:01 PMIf you are interested in exploring a Neo-Druidic approach to working with non-Celtic Deities, you might want to check out ADF (www.adf.org) which has a sturcture to work with any Indo-European Deities. You might especially be interested in their Aus Dhwer: Eastern Gate Kin.

Re: Hi.. I'm new!
Fri, January 19, 2007 - 7:16 AMI'm familliar with the ADF, though I havn't subscribed. I'm not new to druidism and I've reasearched various paths. I've been content to remain a solitary practitioner, though if I were to join a group, I appreciate ADFs intellectual approach (I'm more of an intellectual than a 'feeler'). I did start courses through the OBoD when I very first started, but I never finished them because they seemed like basic knowledge to me (Everything they were teaching me I already knew at an intuitive level.)
Thanks for sharing!
