So glad I found this!!

Hello, everyone. I'm not exactly a Celtic Witch, but I am Pagan and I do follow Hindu Gods. Saraswati and Ganesha are my Partons.
I am not Hindu, but being that I have Hindu/Vedic Gods, I don't want to loss sight of that.
I've been having trouble mixing the two faiths-- Holidays, rituals and such.
I want to clebrate the Wheel of the Year, but with a Hindu slant...things like that.
I'm glad to know there are others like me. I felt SOOOO alone :(.

Welcome Seeker! So glad you found us! This tribe was created especially for people like you who are Pagan and are drawn to Hindu dieties. Seems to be occuring more and more lately. Saraswati and Ganesh are my patrons as well, so I know what you mean.

"I've been having trouble mixing the two faiths-- Holidays, rituals and such.

Have you investigated how Hindu holidays are celebrated in other parts of the world? I initially drew a lot of my inspiration from Balinese Hinduism, where local animistic beliefs and spiritual practices still exist, mingled with the Hindu faith.

As far as the holidays, don't stress. Find out what they mean to YOU first, then celebrate them in a way that feels natural and comfortable to you. This may take a while...I had trouble wrapping my brain around these concepts too. Some books that might help you are "Elements of Hindu Devotion"(can't remember the author) and "Progressive Witchcraft" by Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone.
If you're looking for an easy holiday to celebrate with a Hindu slant, try Imbolc. It's very close to Saraswati's festival, Bansant Puchami, on Feb 1-7 and much of the symbolism is the same (arts, beginnings, Spring, bright colors). Holi is another one, very close to the Spring Equinox and Beltane and is celebrated by squirting colored water at each other. Diwali falls in somewhere between Samhain and Yule, and is a celebration of lights.

Thanks again for joining us! Good luck in all that you seek.

    Namaste and Blessings :)
