Thought to share this... maybe it is as interesting to you as it is to me. Compare the pics...

(I don't like this link... but the pic is ok art-historically).
I friend of mine found a meditating yogi from the viking times (800 a.D.). This is an amazing picture of some kind of yogi in lotus position. I guess, the idea of mediation and yoga (maybe even tantra) must have reached further north than we thought...
Quote,"The Indo-European origins of the Vikings is illustrated by this detail from a very well preserved Viking ship uncovered by archeologists in Scandinavia, known as the Osberg ship, circa 800 AD. A handle mount on a bucket found in the ship depicts a figure carrying a shield with four swastika sun emblems in its corners. The fact that the swastika appears as a symbol from Scandinavia to Italy to India indicates precisely how far the Indo-European influence was felt."
Also, look at this:
The picture from the Gundestrup Caultron shows a meditating yogi. It seems that meditation and maybe even forms of tantra may far more wide spread.

It reminds me on the seal of Pashupati from Mohenjo Daro.
